Looking forward to a weekend of love and family. My cousin Gina G, the closest thing to a sister in my life, is getting married this weekend. Halle is a flower girl, my 2 goddaughters are flower girls, and my son will have a new necktie to sport. Before getting into the love-filled event, on the Thursday evening of the wedding rehearsal, Paul’s talent show is also set to take place. My wife and I will not attend the rehearsal with Halle,

but I’ve asked my brother and mom to look after her (she’s done this flower girl thing a couple of times already, we’re confident in her ability to trail the wedding party down the aisle). I can see this talent show being the world to Paul, and would mean everything to him for any support he can get. He will perform some martial arts learned from PMAC Rancho Cucamonga, the training facility Paul attends for Tae Kwon Do. He’s been working on a routine with his nun-chucks and bow staff with a backdrop of Mortal Kombat’s theme song. How in the world? He’s becoming a brave young man, slowly, quickly, whatever it is… its surely.

Halle finished her introductory season of basketball, a hoops camp provided by the city turned out to be a semi-success. Happy Halle even wanted to practice after season was over. She played through the season with a pair of comfortable Payless shoes (pretty happy that worked out). But I finally picked up a nice pair of everyday shoes (which I’m sure could have helped her during camp) –> a pair of white Nike Air Max 97 for $20. Come up?

Ever heard of infant kicks getting sold out within less than 24 hours? All 3 times they were offered? Well they were finally spotted today, so come up while you can at BabySteals.com, less than a full day left but surely projected to sell out again. Less than $20 shipped to your door.

Although expensive for myself personally, Moms within our circle have praised these shoes, apparently they’re soft and designed for ultimate comfort, word is they’re lighter than socks? Word is consumers also have access to design their own Robeez? For real? Are these Kobe’s Nikes for infants? Whatever it is, I trust every mother, even Target-addicted mothers, that gave a thumbs-up for these kicks.

Missing out on Kohl’s

Only if mens shoe prices were just as low as toddlers shoes, just imagine how much we could come up… at KOHL’s!

Toddler brand “Jumping Beans” sandals and shoes were on sale for $5.
Pair of “Munchkins” sandals for $3.50.
And our favorite come up of the pile, a pair of (girls) Nike Sunray sandals for $6.90.

Honestly, today was the first time to browse through Kohls with an objective, to come up on a decent pair of mens professional dress shoes at the cheap. Grand total savings according to our receipt = a whopping $187.00 (an additional pair of men’s shoes included). Are they adding up differences between sale and “manufacturer’s” retail price (not department store retail price?) Please correct me if there is no difference.

Now for everyone else looking to come-up, unwilling to cross the line and enter Kohl’s, 1saleaday.com is offering a FREE 1-year subscription to ESPN Magazine (well they charge a flat fee $2.99 shipping). Not bad for someone like myself who pays no attention to this “entertainment” channel, I could now pay attention to them in the restroom.

The Ultimate Classic – Bubble Bobble

My daughter is turning 3 this October, and she’s already asking to play with a Nintendo DS (thanks to her generous brother who has a new DSi). I must confess I’m an absolute cheapskate when it comes to buying video games and PC parts. Given she’s conquered PC games Fisher Price’s Cool School, Care Bears (they have a Tetris-like game), and Sports Illustrated for Kids – and currently learning a silly game included in the Lion King 1 1/2 DVD (on a PS3 remote), she’s probably ready to challenge a Nintendo DS. My intention isn’t to create an obese video gamer, but I personally feel video games contribute so much to our cognitive and logical skills… especially with this classic game we’re about to come up for $15 shipped at eBay… yes, a video game for $15 to our doorstep. I’ve bought and sold too many through eBay, so the trust is there, and the thought of our game never arriving.. is also there.

Peers, moms, dads, kids, friends… this is definitely a game to keep in the family collection… especially for $15!

Daily Check-up: Froogle is showing $14.99 Used, next $15.49 at GameBay.com, shipped! Hmmm… should I pay the extra $0.50 to avoid eBay?

This entire time, I thought our local Target and Big 5 had the best prices for toddler sandals (Walmart selection is so-so but prices still compete). My dear wife gave me the green light on this come-up at MamaBargains.com, we’re talking Puddle Jumper Shoe Sandals for toddlers… well, toddler girls that is. Puddle Jumper Shoes apparently carry a boys’ line as well, but not sure if I’d buy a pair for my boy/girl at retail. As for $10, maybe the Targets and the Wal Marts MIGHT compete. But for brand name toddler kicks to your porch for $10? Without the gas, energy, and time spent just to pick up a decent pair locally? My daughter is about to come up!
